About this spot

Starting from NYS Thruway Exit 17 in Newburgh, head toward eastbound I-84 toward Beacon. Continue on I-84 across the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge to exit 12 at Fishkill. Turn right at the traffic light beyond the exit ramp and proceed straight for approximately 2 miles. You'll pass a Getty Station on your left, followed by red brick apartment buildings where you should park. Walk toward the buildings until you locate a fence with an opening, pass through it, and traverse an open field up a slope. The cliffs sit just beyond this rise. Several cliffs on the near side of the creek range from 25 to 35 feet. A larger formation across the creek measures between 50 and 57 feet, with jump options at both the 50-foot mark and from the top at 57 feet. The water maintains significant depth throughout, with a muddy bottom being the only point of contact most visit.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
