About this spot
Exit at Saugerties off the New York State Thruway. Turn left onto Route 212 heading west and continue until you reach a firehouse on your left. At the firehouse in Centerville, take a right onto Blue Mountain Road. Turn left at a general store onto West Saugerties Road (if you see a school on the right, you've gone too far). Follow this road as it becomes Plaat Clove Road while ascending the mountain. A small pulloff is located on the right side approximately 1/8 mile up. From the parking area, cross the embankment and descend a steep slope until reaching a trail. The stream contains at least three swimming holes. The land to the left along the trail is private property, though the stream itself remains accessible.
