About this spot

Located in Bear Mountain Park near Fort Montgomery, NY, this spot sits approximately 5 minutes from the Bear Mountain Bridge in Orange County. Access via the NYS Thruway to the Palisades Parkway toward the Bear Mountain Bridge. At the roundabout just before the bridge, turn right following signs for West Point/Newburgh. After crossing the river bridge, turn left onto Firefighter Memorial Drive, then make your first left onto McCoy Road. A small parking area accommodating about 4 vehicles is on the right. From parking, hike uphill roughly 200 yards. When the road curves right, continue straight to locate the trail entrance. The trail walk takes under 5 minutes to reach the jumping area. Six jumping platforms are available at heights of 6, 15, 20, 40, 50, and 70 feet.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
