About this spot

This spot is the Highway 7 river crossing near Pruitt/Hasty, Arkansas, about 14 miles south of Harrison, where a trail drops roughly 200 yards to bluffs along the Buffalo National River. The historic 1931 Pruitt truss bridge here was demolished in 2021 and replaced by a new highway bridge; satellite imagery confirms a bridge is in place today at the submitted coordinates. Buffalo National River is a legitimate and popular cliff-jumping destination, with reported jump heights here between 5 and 35 feet, and water conditions vary a lot with the season. There is no blanket jumping ban, but the Park Service and news coverage note real risks from shallow rock, current, and difficult exits, including at least one reported serious paddler injury on this river.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
