About this spot
Little Missouri Falls sits on the upper Little Missouri River in Ouachita National Forest, reached via a short paved trail and overlooks from a Forest Service day-use area off FR 43/FR 25 west of Norman, AR (parking and restrooms on site, no fee). The river drops in a stairstep cascade into clear pools deep enough for jumping from the surrounding rocks, with water clear enough to see the gravel bottom below. Hazards include slick, algae-covered rock, cold spring-fed water, and currents that rise quickly after rain upstream, so check flow and never dive headfirst into unfamiliar depths. Swimming and jumping here are legal and long-traditional, unlike the refuge-style bans found elsewhere in the region.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
