About this spot
White Oak Creek Falls sits in the Ozark National Forest off Barnes Road (CR-310), about 8.9 miles north of I-40 exit 37 on AR-219. A roughly 1.5-mile round-trip hike follows ATV track and primitive trail to a 37ft drop where the creek funnels through a narrow v-notch ledge, sounding more powerful than its actual flow. At least five named cascades line this stretch of the North Fork, several with pools that locals wade and swim in, especially after rain. Creek crossings can run high and swift in wet weather, and feeder slopes are steep and slick — waterproof footwear and caution on wet rock are essential. Public national forest land with no fees, but access and flow vary seasonally.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
