About this spot
Located on Arkansas's Buffalo River between Hershey Mountain and Woolum access points, this site sits 1½ miles upriver from Woolum at Skulls Bluff, a location marked on standard maps and river guides. Paddling from Hershey to Woolum provides the sole means of reaching the jumps. The clifftop location is readily visible from the water and offers multiple jump options spanning 20 to 60 feet. Water depth has consistently been sufficient during visits over multiple seasons, though conditions fluctuate significantly with river levels and should be verified before jumping. The area serves as an excellent camping or rest location for river paddlers, with a substantial swimming pool formed along the base of the bluff.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
