About this spot

Kings River Falls sits in the Kings River Falls Natural Area near Witter, reached via an easy, family-friendly 1.8-mile trail through Ozark National Forest. Unlike many area waterfalls, it's spring-fed and keeps flowing through dry spells, feeding a turquoise plunge pool with a shelter ledge you can walk behind. Swimming and jumping from the rocks above are popular and well documented, but the pool hides submerged rock and varies in depth, so check before jumping and never dive headfirst. Water stays cold even in summer. The area sees heavy weekend traffic in warm months; pack out trash and respect posted natural-area signage, since it's managed as a protected natural area rather than an open swimming hole.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
