About this spot

Located on Catalina Island's eastern shore, this site is accessible by boat departing north from Avalon. Travel approximately six miles up the coastline to Long Point, then continue northwest for roughly seven miles to reach Blue Cavern Point. This location features a vertical cliff face with multiple caves and sits on the final peninsula before Isthmus Cove, Cherry Cove, and Two Harbors—if you've reached Two Harbors, you've passed it. A small ridge rises from the water along the cliff's right side. Exit the water and ascend this ridge, moving left to reach the cliff top. The launch area is a flat section with visible evidence of previous jumpers' activity. A running approach is necessary to avoid rocks at the base. While water depth should be adequate, tide conditions warrant careful personal assessment before attempting. The area also offers excellent opportunities for diving and snorkeling.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
