About this spot
From Ventura, take Highway 101 South toward Calabasas and exit at Las Virgenes Road, turning right. Continue approximately 2 miles past Mulholland Drive (marked by a traffic light) until you reach the entrance to Malibu Creek State Park on your right. Follow Crag's Road, a dirt trail, heading upstream alongside the creek for several hundred yards past a bridge crossing. The location is identifiable by numerous visitors with towels and swimwear. Three jumping options exist at this site. The primary cliff ranges from 5 to 40 feet and drops into 8 feet of water above bedrock—sufficient depth for safe jumping. A secondary 10-foot jump leads into areas with varying depths of gravelly sand. The largest formation spans 25 to 40 feet, with a 90-foot drop into 12 feet of water; avoid landing in the space between the cliff and a large green submerged rock unless you land on the downstream side of that rock, as it sits just beneath the surface. Water conditions fluctuate seasonally as sediment can accumulate in the pools, so verify depth before jumping.
