About this spot

This location offers an ideal balance of convenient access and quality jumping opportunities on Deep Creek. It appeared in a National Geographic feature in 2003. The primary jump reaches 35 feet, with a nearby pyramid-shaped formation rising to approximately 50 feet. To reach it from San Bernardino, head north on Waterman Avenue/Highway 18 toward the San Bernardino mountains. Continue north on Highway 173, then turn right onto Hooks Creek Road near Cedar Glen. Follow this road downhill as it transitions to unpaved surface. At the Pacific Crest Trail access sign, turn left and proceed briefly to a parking area.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
