About this spot

Head east on 120 from Oakdale for about 15 minutes until you spot the Knights Ferry directional sign on your right, then turn left to follow it. Make a left turn at your first option. After the bridge, when the road terminates, turn right into the Knights Ferry Visitor's Center lot. From the parking area, walk toward the structures and the historic bridge. Follow the riverside trail on the northern side of the bridge. After several minutes you'll reach a fork with facilities nearby; keep to the left. At the following fork, bear right toward the waterway. Stay on the trail alongside the water past a trash receptacle until you encounter a sharp downslope. Scramble down and back up the rocks, then continue roughly 100 feet to find several jumping areas with heights between 10 and 40 feet. The temperature tends to be quite cool for normal swimming but provides pleasant relief following a 40-foot drop during summer heat.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
