About this spot

Littlerock Reservoir (Little Rock Dam), about 5 miles south of Palmdale on Little Rock Creek in the San Gabriel Mountains, was once a popular jumping and swimming destination drawing roughly 300,000 visitors a year. The reservoir and surrounding recreation area have been CLOSED to public access since 2015, following disputes involving the site's former concessionaire and resulting disrepair; as of late 2025 there was no announced reopening timeline. The dam itself is a historic 124-foot concrete multiple-arch structure spanning 576 feet. Do not attempt to access the reservoir or shoreline—entry is not currently legal. Check Los Angeles County and Palmdale Water District announcements before assuming access has been restored.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
