About this spot

This location sits on Catalina Island's eastern shore in California. Access requires a boat departing northward from Avalon along the coastline for roughly six miles to Long Point. From there, proceed northwest along the shore for approximately seven miles until reaching Blue Cavern Point, characterized by vertical cliff faces meeting the ocean with multiple sea caves visible in the rock. The jump occupies the final peninsula area before arriving at Isthmus Cove, Cherry Cove, or Two Harbors—passing Two Harbors indicates you've overshot your destination. A modest ridge rises from the water on the right side of the cliff face. Wade out and ascend this ridge, moving upward and leftward to reach the cliff summit. The launch platform is a relatively level section at the top where vegetation shows signs of previous jumper activity. A running approach is necessary to avoid rocks in the water below. Water depth is generally adequate, though tide conditions warrant careful personal inspection prior to jumping. The area also offers excellent opportunities for diving and snorkeling.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
