About this spot
Seven Teacups is a chain of seven granite pools on Dry Meadow Creek between Springville and Kernville, most commonly accessed as a technical Class C canyoneering descent with rappels rather than a casual walk-in swimming hole. Multiple pools allow jumps or slides — one of the easier is a roughly 12-foot-deep jump — documented across canyoneering guides, video, and local news. The hazard that matters: this isn't beginner terrain; ledges lurk just below the surface at some teacups, flow changes the descent difficulty, and a hiker has previously needed a multi-day rescue here, so canyoneering gear, rope skills, and low-flow conditions matter more than at a typical swimming hole.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
