About this spot
This unmarked spot sits west of Broadway in Boulder along Canyon Road. Drive about 8 miles past the Boulder Falls sign, then look for a pullout on your left. From the parking area, follow a short trail roughly 50 yards farther up the canyon to reach The Hole—a circular pool about 20 feet across in Boulder Creek. The jump requires swimming across the creek first, then ascending a rocky face with a useful fissure to climb. The ascent demands some scrambling ability and climbing skills. Water depth ranges between 10 and 12 feet, making bottom contact avoidable for experienced jumpers. Falling simply returns you to the creek below for another attempt.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
