Northgate Falls is a modest roughly 20-foot cascade on a Bissell Brook tributary within the McLean Game Refuge, Simsbury. A short, steep 0.1-mile unmarked trail off Firetown Road reaches the base; nonslip footwear helps with the scramble down. Flow is highly seasonal and drops sharply by late summer, sometimes reducing the falls to a trickle. One travel aggregator claims swimming is possible at the base pool, but more detailed hiking guides describe it only as a scenic viewpoint with no swimming or jumping mentioned.
