Poll na bPéist, the Serpent's Lair, is a near-perfect rectangular pool cut by the sea into the cliffs of Inis Mór in the Aran Islands — a Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series venue. The pro platform sits at 27 m (90 ft); mortals jump from the lower ledges at the pool's edge. Depth is huge but the Atlantic surges in through an underwater channel: jump only on calm days, and know your exit before you go in.
