About this spot
From Atlanta, take I-75 North to exit 258 and head west on Cumberland Boulevard to reach Paces Mill. Turn left onto Cobb Parkway and after approximately 0.4 miles, bear right at the Chattahoochee/West Palisades/Paces Mill entrance. The access road descends beneath Cobb Parkway and curves left underneath it. For Akers Mill access, use the same I-75 North exit 258 but turn right from the ramp onto Cumberland Boulevard. Take a right onto Akers Mill Road, then right again onto Akers Drive near the watermill. Proceed uphill and turn left at the West Palisades marker, followed by a right turn into the parking area. A quarter-mile walk leads to the river, with the cliff formations visible across the water to the right.
