About this spot
Real waterfall (80-200ft depending on source) in the DeSoto Falls Recreation Area of Chattahoochee National Forest, reached via a maintained ~1.5-mile trail from the day-use lot off US-19/129 south of Blairsville/Dahlonega, GA. A swimming hole sits at the base and one source describes a ~15-foot jump rock there, but that claim is single-source and unconfirmed elsewhere — most guides instead warn against climbing, standing near, or jumping from the falls due to slick rocks and fast water.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
