About this spot
Dicks Creek Falls, also called Waters Creek Falls, is a multi-tier cascade in the Chattahoochee National Forest west of Helen, Georgia, just below where Dicks Creek and Waters Creek meet. Access is via unpaved Forest Service roads off US-19 (Mt. Pisgah Church Road); the lowermost 15-foot drop is visible from the road with a short path to its base, while upper tiers hold deeper swimming pools. Cliff jumping from rock ledges above the pools is a known, filmed local activity, but it carries real risk — a visitor needed an ambulance after a jump gone wrong. Water levels and submerged rock shift with rainfall, so scout depth carefully before jumping. Free to visit, no facilities, and moderately crowded on summer weekends.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
