About this spot
Kezar Falls Gorge sits on the Kezar River off an easy-to-miss dirt pull-off near 5 Kezars Road in Lovell. A short, steep trail drops into a shaded bedrock gorge where the river has carved a chain of connected potholes and swimming pools, a lightly-visited but well-loved local spot documented across multiple trip reports and reviews. Chain-link fencing has been installed in places to keep visitors back from the steepest gorge walls - a sign the drop-offs are taken seriously, and the real hazard here. Water stays cold and mostly shaded even in summer. Parking is unmarked and often empty, so tell someone your plans. No fees or permits; access is via public road and undeveloped forest, with flow and pool depth varying a lot after rain.
