About this spot
Located in Becket, Massachusetts at Quarry Road, this site offers jumping heights of 20, 40, 50, 62, and 80 feet. The parking area is straightforward to access—an oval turnaround lot off Quarry Road marked by a historic Becket billboard. A nature walk trail departs from the parking area and leads uphill for approximately 5-10 minutes, with the quarry appearing on the right side of the path. The quarry contains over 100 feet of water with no river inflow, resulting in still conditions. Water temperature peaks in late August and September, reaching near bath water warmth. Multiple jump options accommodate various experience levels, from beginners exploring the lower heights to advanced jumpers tackling the 80-foot jump located at the back section of the trail on the upper ledge. From Springfield, Massachusetts, take I-91 North toward Holyoke and Greenfield, then merge onto I-90 West via exit 14 toward Albany. Exit at Exit 3 toward Route 10, Westfield, and US 202 toward Northampton. Continue slightly left onto Pride Way, then slightly right onto US 202/Route 10/Southampton Road. Bear slightly left onto Union Avenue, turn right onto US 20/Franklin Street, and left onto Route 23/Blanford Road. Turn slightly right onto North Blanford Road, then slightly right onto Algerie Road before turning right onto Quarry Road. The destination sits at 456 Quarry Road on your right, approximately half a mile past Lambert Drive. If you reach Gould Road, you have passed the location.
