About this spot
Located in Buzzard's Bay between Cape Cod and Rhode Island (coordinates: 41°37'51"N, 70°41'39"W), this spot features a lighthouse situated on a shallow sandbar formation. To reach the area, start at the Bourne Bridge rotary and head south on Route 28, then continue right onto Route 28A. Turn right on Wing Road followed by a left on Quaker Road, which leads to Old Silver Beach where the lighthouse is visible from shore. Accessing the actual jump location requires a boat since the lighthouse stands on a shoal. A rope is necessary for climbing up the structure. Water depth varies due to the sandbar conditions and can be shallow in places, creating rip currents. Timing your visit for high tide is recommended. For safety, jump into the wave action rather than flat water. The rope is essential for exiting the water and returning to the structure for subsequent jumps.
