About this spot

Located in Buzzard's Bay between Cape Cod and Rhode Island (coordinates 41°37'51"N, 70°41'39"W), this lighthouse sits atop a shoal. Access begins at the Bourne Bridge rotary; take Route 28 South, then veer right onto Route 28A. Turn right on Wing Road followed by a left on Quaker Road, continuing to Old Silver Beach where the lighthouse is visible from shore. Reaching the site requires a boat due to shallow conditions typical of shoals, which generate rip currents. A rope is necessary for climbing the structure and getting back down. Visit at high tide when water depth increases. For safety, jump into wave patterns rather than still water. The rope serves double duty for both ascending the lighthouse and re-entering the water for additional jumps.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
