About this spot

Take MA Pike (Route 90) to exit 3, then turn right onto Route 10 and 202. Follow this route through Westfield and Southwick—the road can be tricky to navigate, so pay close attention. You'll reach Route 57 in Southwick approximately half a mile past a large gas station and a Dunkin Donuts at a traffic light. Turn right onto Route 57 and continue for 2-3 miles. You'll pass a sign for Granville Gorge on your right. Another 1-2 miles further, look for a large dirt pullout on your right—this is the second one; the first typically has construction vehicles. Park there and walk back along the road for about half a mile. Take the second trail you encounter and follow it downhill to reach the gorge. The location offers two primary jumps around 15 feet each, plus a rope swing that extends to approximately 20-25 feet. The first jump is a prominent large rock you'll notice immediately upon arrival. The second jump is a tree stump on the opposite side of the gorge, partially obscured by vegetation. The riverbed beneath the second jump has become somewhat shallow in recent times, so checking water depth beforehand is advisable. The area also provides good hiking and recreational opportunities.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
