About this spot

Exit at exit 3 on the Massachusetts Pike and turn right onto routes 10 and 202. Continue on these combined routes through Westfield and Southwick—the roads can be tricky to navigate, so pay close attention. You'll reach route 57 in Southwick approximately half a mile past a large gas station and Dunkin' Donuts location at a traffic light. Turn right onto route 57 and drive for roughly 2-3 miles. You'll pass a sign for Granville Gorge on your right. Continue 1-2 miles further to find a large unpaved pull-off on your right side, which is the second turnoff in the area (the first typically has construction vehicles). Park there and walk back along the road for about half a mile. The trail entrance you need is the second path you encounter. Follow it downhill to reach the gorge. Two primary jumps are available, each approximately 15 feet high. A rope swing extends your jump height to roughly 20-25 feet. The first jump is a prominent large rock at the initial landing area. The second jump sits across the gorge on a tree stump, partially obscured by vegetation. The riverbed beneath the second jump has recently become shallower, so checking the water depth beforehand is advisable. The location offers hiking and recreational opportunities in addition to jumping.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
