About this spot
Livermore Falls is a well-known swimming and jumping spot on the Pemigewasset River in Campton, NH, about two hours north of Boston. From I-93 take Exit 25 and follow local roads (past a school) to Livermore Falls Road, where a dirt lot serves the state forest day-use area. Rock ledges offer jumps of roughly 20, 40, and 60 feet, and a large rope swing hangs from the road bridge, itself about 103 feet above the water. There's no formal jumping ban, but currents, slippery rocks, and a submerged ledge have caused serious injuries and at least one fatality, so scout your landing zone carefully and never jump the bridge without confidence in water depth.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
