About this spot

Hebron Colony Falls—also called Hebron Rock Colony—is a boulder-strewn stretch of Boone Fork in Julian Price Memorial Park, reached via the Blue Ridge Parkway's Boone Fork Trail from the Milepost 296.4 picnic area (about 1.4–1.6 miles). Cascades tumble a few feet between huge granite boulders, creating shallow wading pools and short boulder-to-boulder jumps popular with families in summer. Heights are modest—mostly knee-to-waist-deep pools and low ledges rather than true cliffs. The real hazard is slick, algae-covered rock: falls on wet granite cause most injuries here, and water rises fast after rain. Access via Old Turnpike Road is illegal roadside parking that rangers ticket; use the Parkway trailhead instead. Public national parkway land, no permit needed.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly.
