About this spot
Camp Branch Falls is a small, well-documented waterfall on Camp Branch near Wayah Bald in Nantahala National Forest, reached by a moderate 0.6-mile hike from a gated pull-off on FR-316 off Wayah Road. Upper Camp Branch Falls sits less than 200 feet upstream, and old explosives-bunker structures line the trail. Rocks are slippery near the base. No source documents swimming or cliff jumping here — this is a short forest-service waterfall hike, and the creek's small volume makes a jump culture unlikely.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
