About this spot

Kalakaleskies Falls, more formally Lake Sequoyah Dam Falls, is a series of cascades (roughly 3-45 ft, cumulative drop near 35 ft) spilling below the Lake Sequoyah dam 1.9 miles west of Highlands on US-64, with roadside parking right at the dam. Getting close to the cascades requires a steep, unofficial scramble down a dangerous riverbank to boulders in the streambed — not recommended for kids. Because Lake Sequoyah supplies Highlands' drinking water, wading or playing in the water above or near the falls is discouraged. This reads as a scenic overlook, not a swimming or jumping spot.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
