About this spot

A 50-ft waterfall spraying from a jagged, sheer rock face, reached via a short (~0.5 mile) but exceptionally steep and unmaintained trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Milepost 322 (North Cove/Marion area). Fixed ropes are used to descend sections of the route — AllTrails rates it HARD and multiple guides warn it is not suitable for inexperienced hikers. The remoteness means solitude but also real fall-injury risk on the roped sections. No cliff-jumping or swimming-hole culture is documented; this reads as a technical waterfall-viewing hike rather than an established swim spot.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
