About this spot

Located on the border between Rowan and Davidson counties in North Carolina, this site sits at the Yadkin River bridge off Tuckertown Road, which connects to Highway 49. The location is approximately 40 minutes from UNCC; from campus, take Highway 49 south for roughly 36 miles before turning right onto Tuckertown Road. Continue on Tuckertown Road for about a mile until you reach a fishing area on the right side with parking available. Two wooden posts connected by a metal rope mark the boundary; proceed past this barrier approximately 30 yards, then veer left along the smaller pond's edge. Cross the railroad tracks and ascend the hill on the right side to reach the primary area. The cliff face ranges from 30 to 40 feet in height depending on the specific exit point, with an optional 6-foot horizontal distance to clear if desired. The water depth is substantial, with sonar readings confirming approximately 30 feet. Wearing shoes is advisable due to the rocky terrain during the ascent. This location accommodates jumpers of varying skill levels.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
