About this spot

Located at the Rowan County and Davidson County border on the Yadkin River near the Tuckertown Road bridge. Access via Highway 49 in North Carolina, approximately 40 minutes from UNCC. From UNCC, travel south on Highway 49 for roughly 36 miles, then turn right onto Tuckertown Road. Continue about 1 mile to a parking area on the right where local anglers frequent. Two wooden posts with a metal rope mark the entrance—proceed past this barrier roughly 30 yards, then veer left following the smaller pond's perimeter. Cross the railroad tracks and climb the hill to the right to reach a spacious clearing with the cliff. Jump heights range from 30-40 feet depending on your chosen takeoff point and whether you attempt an approximately 6-foot leap over a gap. The water is exceptionally deep, with sonar readings indicating depths around 30 feet. Shoes are recommended for the rocky ascent back up. Suitable for jumpers of varying experience levels.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
