About this spot
Middle Creek Falls lies downstream of Upper Middle Creek Falls on the same creek in Nantahala National Forest near Scaly Mountain, reached via the 0.9-mile Middle Creek Falls Loop or a longer route that also visits Dome Falls and Spicoli Falls (about 2.5 miles round trip). Parking is roadside on NC-106 near the Georgia state line. Hikers describe the trail as overgrown in stretches and moderately challenging, on what feels like private-adjacent land. No swimming hole or jumping culture is documented here; wet rock near the drop is the main hazard cited.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
