About this spot
Widow's Creek Falls sits inside Stone Mountain State Park near Sparta, a short 5-10 minute walk from the main parking lot. A 25-foot main drop feeds a plunge pool, then a long tail of smooth-rock cascades acts as a natural waterslide with several wading holes below. Water stays cold year-round and rocks are notoriously slick, so footwear matters more than height here. It's a family-popular, well-documented swimming hole rather than a big-air jump spot; arrive early on summer weekends since it crowds fast. Parking, restrooms, and a short well-marked trail make access easy, and rangers patrol regularly. No fees beyond standard park admission. Respect posted closures after heavy rain, when flow and rocks both get more dangerous.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
