About this spot
Lower Falls is the final drop in Stone Mountain State Park's three-waterfall chain on Big Sandy Creek, reached via a moderate 3+ mile loop past Stone Mountain Falls and Middle Falls. The falls empty into a natural pool that's waist-deep in spots, with boulders around it popular for sunbathing before the water spills onward into the creek bed. It's a swim-and-wade spot rather than a formal jump platform, and the approach trail has seen periodic construction closures near the upper falls, so check current park conditions before hiking in. Rocks stay slick when wet. No fees beyond park admission; parking is at the upper or lower Stone Mountain lots.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
