About this spot

Little Niagara Falls is a low travertine cascade on Travertine Creek inside Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur, OK, reached by a short paved path from nearby lots (no refuge entrance fee). It's one of the park's most popular swimming holes, and jumping from the low rock ledges beside the falls into the plunge pool is a long-running summer tradition, especially on weekends. The travertine rock is smooth but often algae-slick, there are no lifeguards, and pool depth shifts with creek flow, so wade in and check before jumping. Swimming is legal within the designated Rock Creek/Travertine Creek areas of the park, though rangers may close access after heavy rain when currents run high.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
