About this spot

Approaching Tillamook on Highway 6, you'll notice a truck weigh station ahead. Before reaching it, turn left onto Olsen Rd. At the stop sign, continue straight onto Trask River Rd, passing Circle Dr on your right. From the stop sign, drive approximately 1.5 miles until you spot a left turn onto Trask River Rd, which runs alongside the Trask River upstream. Continue on this road for about 10 miles until you reach an RV park. Turn left into the facility and use the day use parking area on your immediate right. Behind the dumpster, a small path leads down to the water area where the reference photo originates. Accessing the rock pillar requires climbing via rope—the current method involves using a single rope with a small loop for your foot while pulling yourself up with one arm. This ascent is extremely challenging. Users have reported the rope condition is unreliable, and it may not support your weight safely. Bring your own climbing aid if you attempt this. Exercise extreme caution throughout your visit.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
