About this spot

This former explosives manufacturing facility stands 50 feet high near Berwick, Pennsylvania. Access the site by traveling east on Route 93 through Nescopeck until you reach Wapwollopen, then turn left onto River Road at the green town sign. When Route 239 intersects River Road, continue straight approximately 400 yards and look for parking on the right side. A short hiking trail near the parking area leads along the creek for about 15 minutes until you reach the waterfall. Another trail branches left from the waterfall and extends roughly a mile and a half further, passing a rope swing known for being extremely hazardous. The property is privately owned and actively prosecuted for trespassing. Jump from the yellow-marked cross on the trestle, aiming toward the center of the pool. The safe landing zone measures only about 10 feet wide. The trestle itself presents significant danger—falling before reaching the proper jump-off point could result in severe injury or death. Water depth and current conditions fluctuate seasonally, though jumping is possible year-round with the understanding that you may touch bottom. Scout the swimming area beforehand to identify the deepest sections. The rope swing in the area has caused serious injuries multiple times due to premature release. This location constitutes trespassing and enforcement has been confirmed by property management.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
