About this spot
Cottonwood Falls is a roughly 10-foot waterfall along the Double Run Nature Trail in Worlds End State Park, about a half-mile, mostly flat walk from parking on Route 154 near Worlds End Road, with a short descent to the base. Water drops through a narrow rock slit into a pool in a circular, tree-ringed hollow. Some trip reports mention rock-jumping and a hidden ledge nearby, but that appears to describe the park's separate dammed swimming area on Loyalsock Creek, not this specific waterfall — so jump culture at Cottonwood Falls itself is unconfirmed. Slippery rocks near the falls are the main hazard. Access is free within the state park during normal hours.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
