About this spot
Also called Pioneer Falls on park maps (a trailside sign reads Gregg Falls), this 15-to-20-foot waterfall sits along the Gerard Trail in Oil Creek State Park, about a 1.2-mile round trip from parking off Pioneer Road. It's a seasonal, rain-fed falls that commonly runs dry by mid-summer, so timing matters more than technique here. No swimming or jumping culture is documented — this is a hiking and photography stop near the ghost town of Pioneer. Trail conditions are mostly easy with a short uphill stretch near the end. Access is free and legal within the state park during normal hours; check recent rainfall before the drive if you want to see water flowing.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
