About this spot
Carrick Creek Falls is a roughly 15-foot cascade just a 0.2-mile paved walk behind the Table Rock State Park Nature Center in Pickens, SC, on the 2-mile, green-blazed Carrick Creek Loop. A $2 per-person park entrance fee applies at the gate, with the swim area open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. swim-at-your-own-risk. The falls empty into a shallow, boulder-lined pool popular for wading, rock-hopping, and photos rather than jumping — there's no real height to jump from, and the rock apron is slick with algae, so slips are the main hazard. Water is spring-fed and cold even in summer, and flow surges fast after mountain thunderstorms, so avoid the creek during or right after storms.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
