About this spot
Double Spring Mountain Falls (also called Double Springs Falls) is a 35-40 ft two-tier cascade inside Jocassee Gorges Wildlife Management Area, on the shore of Lake Jocassee. It's a boat-in destination reached by paddling or motoring across the lake rather than by trail, and it flows best after heavy rain. No swimming or jumping culture is documented for this specific falls; visitors mainly view it from the water. Hazards: submerged rock and debris at the base, changing lake levels, and no cell service or lifeguard in this remote gorge. There is no fee, but access depends on having a boat or kayak on Lake Jocassee.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
