About this spot

Located at Echo Lake near Coalville, Utah, access this spot by exiting I-80 westbound at the first rest area after you spot the lake. The rest stop sits on the opposite side of the highway median from the water. A clearly marked pedestrian trail crosses the highway and descends to the shoreline. Multiple jump options exist at varying heights, so select based on your ability and experience. Before attempting larger jumps, consult with the numerous boaters who frequent the area—they can use their depth finders to confirm water conditions. If approaching from Park City via I-80 eastbound, you'll need to exit at 168 and merge onto I-80 westbound, as the proper rest stop is inaccessible from the eastbound direction. Once heading west, the correct rest area is the first one past exit 168. The site features approximately 5-6 distinct jumping levels, with heights spanning roughly 10 feet up to 100 feet.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
