About this spot

Hyrum Reservoir, part of Hyrum State Park south of Logan, Utah, has informal cliff-jumping areas along its rocky shoreline — locals call the most popular one "Big Toe," on the reservoir's east side. The original coordinates sat over a mile away on dry farmland and have been corrected to the park's day-use/beach area on the water; exact GPS for Big Toe itself isn't publicly documented, so treat any specific jump spot as approximate. Heights run roughly 10-50 feet, but the reservoir is drawn down through the season for irrigation — a jump that clears bottom in May can be dangerously shallow by July, and conditions change week to week. The park operates 6am-10pm; camping requires reservations in summer.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
