About this spot

An abandoned quarry near Bomoseen in the Castleton/Rutland region of Vermont. Located across from a boat launch along Route 30, accessible via a dirt parking area at the top of the hill. A trailhead descends steeply through wooded terrain to a clearing with gravel and dirt. A rope swing hangs over the quarry water. Marked arrows painted on the rock face indicate the jumping location, reached by following a path that climbs the quarry wall.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
