About this spot
An old slate quarry pit within Bomoseen State Park, locally called the 'Green Dump' for the slate rubble lining the shore, near the park's Route 30 boat-launch access. A dirt clearing at the top of a short wooded trail leads down to the quarry pool; a rope swing and painted arrows mark the jump line along the rock wall. Heights are modest and undocumented. Main hazards are submerged slate slabs and shallow ledges close to the jump line, plus no lifeguard on duty. The area sits at the edge of state park land next to private lots, so stay on marked paths.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
