About this spot

From downtown Middlebury, head south on Route 7 through agricultural areas for approximately 10-15 minutes until Lake Dunmore signage appears. Turn left onto the road circling the lake and continue for a few minutes to locate a modest parking area on the left marked for Falls of Lana. Local residents in the surrounding homes can provide directions if needed. From the pullout, follow alongside the large black pipe until reaching a dirt road, then veer left off this road toward the sound of falling water. Descend through wooded terrain and rocky outcrops until arriving at the falls. Three jump options exist at approximately 15, 30, and 35 feet, all dropping into a pool of substantial depth that allows for easy exit swimming. The location serves as both a hiking destination and recreational jumping spot, with additional online resources available for navigation.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
