About this spot
Warren Falls sits on the Mad River about 1.5 miles south of Warren village on VT-100, with a signed, official parking area (15-20 spots) on the west side of the highway. Four tiers of falls feed clear, green-tinted pools 1 to 10 feet deep, with boulder ledges offering jumps from roughly 10 to 40 feet. USA Today once ranked it the country's 4th-best swimming hole, and it draws heavy summer crowds. The real hazard is the current: strong, fast-changing flow has pulled swimmers over drops and into other jumpers, contributing to more than a dozen deaths over the decades. Check the landing zone before jumping. Swimming and jumping are legal at this official Vermont natural area.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
